The EIDES Association organized the 9th international conference
The EIDES Association organized the 9th international conference on E-Identification and
Trust Services for Electronic Transactions on October 23, 2025, at the Brdo Congress
Center.
The ZEIDES 2025 program, organized by the Slovenian Association for E-Identification and
E-Trust Services in cooperation with Palsit, covered solutions and services for digitizing
public and private sector business, with an emphasis on e-identification and authentication of
individuals when accessing online and offline electronic services, as well as e-signatures and
other trust services related to the use, management, and storage of electronic records.
The implementing acts for the European Digital Identity Wallet (EDDI) were presented,
including those already adopted or being prepared by the EU Commission based on the
eIDAS 2.0 Regulation, as well as the results of large pilot projects in which technical
specifications and procedures were tested to enable Member States to provide at least one
EDDI by the end of 2026.
Using the example of an employment contract, arguments were presented for the immediate
transition to default digital transactions using e-signatures based on a qualified certificate for
e-signatures.
In the field of information security, the obligations imposed by ZInfV-1 were discussed. By
classifying trust services as highly critical sectors, ZInfV-1 imposes obligations on trust
service providers that meet the conditions for essential or important entities and brings
advantages to relying parties due to this status. In the field of personal data protection, the
EU Act on Artificial Intelligence was presented.
The conference concluded with a roundtable discussion, where participants discussed EDDI
and legally valid electronic document signing.
