On March 28, 2022, administrative units began issuing new, biometric and electronic identity card. In addition to data for proving identity and citizenship and crossing the state border, the identity card also contains data which enable electronic identification and authentication for accessing electronic services and electronic signing in accordance with the regulations governing electronic identification and electronic signature.<\/p>\n

On August 7, 2021, the Act on Electronic Identification and Trust Services (ZEISZ) entered into force, regulating the personal electronic identity assigned by the provider of qualified trust services in the Republic of Slovenia, and the means of electronic identification used to prove this electronic identity, and an electronic identification scheme based on this electronic identity in accordance with the requirements of the eIDAS Regulation. ZEISZ has also regulated trust services in section, where the eIDAS Regulation allows this.<\/p>\n

On the market, there is a growing range of solutions and services of e-identification, authentication and remote e-signature, via the internet or mobile phones, which incorporate<\/strong> various interpretations regarding levels of reliability and trust, defined in eIDAS Regulation and acts issued based on it<\/strong>.
