On Friday, September 6, 2024, the President of the EIDES Association spoke at the INFOSEK 2024 conference and presented trust services as essential or important services in the context of NIS 2. By classifying trust services as essential or important services, the NIS 2 Directive adds cybersecurity requirements to the requirements imposed on trust service providers by the eIDAS Regulation. It requires trust service providers to take appropriate and proportionate measures to manage the risks to their services, including in relation to customers and trusted third parties, and to report incidents in accordance with NIS 2. Mr. Antončič gave a brief overview of these obligations and the measures taken to comply with them.
